Amanda Seyfried og Dominic Cooper spiller Sophie og Sky og så skal vi naturlig også møde Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgård og Colin Firth igen som Sophies tre mulige fædre. Filmen bevæger sig frem og tilbage i tiden og fortæller, hvordan relationer, der blev skabt i fortiden, har indflydelse på nutiden.
